Either this is an unusual coincidence, OR the person changing the alternator inadvertently disconnected some of the A/C wiring [like a harness connector], OR damaged one the wires in the A/C circuit.
The A/C compressor has a wire to supply current to it to engage the A/C clutch, and if that wire is disconnected, cut or broken, then the A/C clutch cannot engage.
Something can be taxing the work of the alternator, or the alternator can be weak and needs replaced.
check your fuses for both problems.
check the belts
The alternator must be removed and replaced from the bottom, as with raising the vehicle high enough to work from underneath "safely".
It is probably a problem with switch ( the lever ) Or in the wiring (broken wire somewhere)
you replaced speedo, so try replacing speed sensor
i replaced the fuel pump and now my theft system wont work
have a qualified mechanic work on it.
go have your alternator tested. when they start to go out the alternator will create alot of drag on the engine but then work fine and the engine wont have the drag but the alternator wont put out the correct amount of amperage and the votage will drop increasingly
The seat belts probably need replaced.
Either the switch or resister network has failed and needs to be replaced.
you probley did not hook it up right or you did hook it up right but it just unscrewed.
