Neither. The percentage of people filing BK because of frivolous spending is small. Job loss, layoffs, the economy in general is one reason. The lack of adequate medical insurance places "working poor" families in dire straits when it comes to a serious accident or illness. They are faced with overwhelming medical bills and few choices. The number one reason for BK filings by seniors is medical bills and the high cost of prescription medicines. Certainly some people are irresponsible. But the majority are honest, hardworking individuals who have fallen on hardtimes.

First radio ever made?

Transmitter: a high voltage spark transmitter that emitted wideband radio noise. It was only useful for Morse Code telegraph messages.Receiver: detected pulses of radio signal using a device called a coherer, a glass tube full of iron filings that stuck together when a pulse arrived, the resulting drop in resistance tripped a relay which activated the sounder and a decoherer, a solenoid activated rubber mallet that tapped the cohererknocking the iron filings loose making it ready for the next radio pulse..

What are Indian drums called?

The tabla and banja, collectively known as the tabla (confusing, I know), are standard percussion instruments in any Indian ensemble. The smaller drum, the tabla, is made of a hollow tube of teak or rosewood, covered at one end by goat leather and tightened using a series of goat leather straps and wooden dowels. The larger drum, the banja, is made of beaten brass or copper with a goat leather head and straps (but no dowels). Instead of tubular, it is bowl-shaped. Both have the unique feature of a syahi, a small lump of molten rubber and iron filings placed on the drumskin and left to cool (cheaper models often have a synthetic substitute). This provides a clear and ringing tone when struck, loud enough to be heard over the rest of the orchestra.

How do you expunge eviction from public record?

Well, if you are asking if you can physically remove eviction filings from court records, the answer is 'no'; however, within certain parameters, the matters can be sealed from public viewing. If you are asking if you can remove eviction entries from your credit report or from your rental history record/file, then the answer is 'yes' within very stringent parameters. There are certain laws that DCRs (data compilation companies) are supposed to follow that, ofetntimes, they do not. So, your information is made available too soo, beyond the legal length of time to report this information and with invalid information or information that is not updated. The first thiing that you want to do is find out what your prospective landlords will see when they view your credit report and your rental history record and the best way to do this is for you to pull your credit report and look in the public records section for anything (judgment(s) ) related to your eviction. Then, have a company like RemoveEvictions.com pull your Rental History Report to see if any evictions show up on your record. Sometimes, when there is no judgment disposition (settled before going to court), your eviction information will still show up when your prospective landlords run your background check. You do not want to be sitting in the property management's office and have this information come up...especially if you have stated that you have no evictions on your record (by going on the information found in your credit report alone). Once you know what's on your record, the aforementioned company (removeevictions.com) has methods to have a good percentage of evictions removed, I'm told.

How long did it take to invent the radio?

In 1893, in St. Louis, Missouri, Nikola Tesla made devices for his experiments with electricity. Addressing the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and the National Electric Light Association, he described and demonstrated in detail the principles of his wireless work. The descriptions contained all the elements that were later incorporated into radio systems before the development of the vacuum tube. He initially experimented with magnetic receivers, unlike the coherers (detecting devices consisting of tubes filled with iron filings which had been invented by Temistocle Calzecchi-Onesti at Fermo in Italy in 1884, used by Guglielmo Marconi and other early experimenters. The first radio couldn't transmit sound or speech and was called the "wireless telegraph." The first public demonstration of wireless telegraphy took place in the lecture theater of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History on August 14, 1894, carried out by Professor Oliver Lodge and Alexander Muirhead. During the demonstration a radio signal was sent from the neighboring Clarendon laboratory building, and received by apparatus in the lecture theater. In 1895 Alexander Stepanovich Popov built his first radio receiver, which contained a coherer. Further refined as a lightning detector, it was presented to the Russian Physical and Chemical Society on May 7, 1895. A depiction of Popov's lightning detector was printed in the Journal of the Russian Physical and Chemical Society the same year. Popov's receiver was created on the improved basis of Lodge's receiver, and originally intended for reproduction of its experiments In 1896, Marconi was awarded the British patent 12039, Improvements in transmitting electrical impulses and signals and in apparatus there-for, for radio. In 1897 he established the world's first radio station on the Isle of Wight, England. Marconi opened the world's first "wireless" factory in Hall Street, Chelmsford, England in 1898, employing around 50 people. the radio is used alot now.

How do you find out if someone has filed for bankruptcy?

Bankruptcy court records are public records, unless the court has impounded some or all the information for some good reason. There are banking publications, like Banker & Tradesman, that publish all filings in their area. Some local newspapers still publish bankruptcy filings from their communities. And you can check out the bankruptcy filings at the bankruptcy court for your area. There is usually a public access computer in the clerk's office where you can look for filings by name. A deputy clerk will be happy to assist you.

If I file bankruptcy can I add my mother's creditor with my bankruptcy?

Just because she is your mother, it does not mean that you are automatically liable for her debts. When you file for bankruptcy, you can include only those debts which you are liable either personally or as a co-signor or joint debts. If you are not a co-signor and you include your mother debt in your bankruptcy, you will be committing fraud and your petition will be dismissed. Once a bankruptcy petition is dismissed for fraud, there may be restrictions on future filings. Your mother will continue to be liable for the debt. If she is unable to pay the debt, she can file for bankruptcy to discharge the debt. For an official opinion, it is advised you seek legal counsel.

What happens to a loan if a finance corporation files for bankruptcy?

Nothing spectacular happens. And you are still liable for the loan payments. Most bankruptcy filings are for Reorganization, not for 'going-out-of-business'. The 'filing' of bankruptcy is done in a Bankruptcy Court. A judge oversees the orderly progression of the bankruptcy. If the finance corporation has filed for reorganization, then you will continue paying them -- because they are not going out of business Otherwise, your loan and every other loan will be sold to another financial institution -- and you will pay that new company. No matter what, you still have to pay the full amount of your loan.
