Like alot of things a rebuild helps to lengthen the life and there is nothing wrong with a rebuilt part as long as it was done right
Probably not, especially if the rods were thoroughly reconditioned and the "big end" was honed back into shape.
Nobody wants to rebuild carburetors any more and the ones that do charge too much. If you are mechanically inclined you can purchase a rebuild kit and do it yourself.
