If strict, it's in the sense of how children should be raised in a Christ-like environment. What comes from that is a sense of a strong faith in God, teaching the importance of good character, responsibility, sharing, learning that it is best to give than to receive, compassion for one another, forgiveness, modesty, etc. All of this are excellent examples of qualities to instill in children. I would not consider this type of loving discipline with the word "strict". Leading with love I think would be a better term for it.

No. God has blessed the Duggars tremendously with lots of kids.
Their friends were having a church service in an office trailer, but then the church family got so massive that they moved it to the Duggar's living room. According to Jill Duggar, "we have, like, hundreds of people in our living room," "...and it's just a few families," says Jinger.
The Duggars are independent Baptists and belong to a home church with a couple of other families.
