When you say made I asume you mean starting from nothing. Here's the short answer. About 85% of the parts that are assembled to make the bike are American made. Things such as the lights, sometimes the brakes, sometimes the front forks...come from Japan or Asia. The reason is the less regulated environment laws and because the Japan seems to be better at building precision brakes and forks. I'm sure why HD can't imitate the technology. Starting in this year the new HD Street 500 & 750 will have motors built in India AND the US. If you purchase your bike in North America you will get a US motor. This is a guess...HD is avoiding the tariffs from shipping the motors to the US. I think you can get a complete list of where each part is made from HD themselves. Either on their website or call the plant in KC. They don't hide anything. It's a global economy man...things change...guess we have to also.

Usually not. Harley Dealerships make their money off of the sale of accessories, add-ons, and service, not from new bike sales. If you want to negotiate find a newer used Harley which is your best deal anyway. The only time you may be able to negotiate would be during the off season (depends where you live) when the previous years models are still on the floor. You might be able to get an accessory credit or something though, just don't expect great deal on a new Harley....ever. Ride safe.

The next Harley that would be a good match for would be the Dyna Low Rider FXDL. It has a low frame and saddle. The Low Rider shares the same engine and transmission as the larger Harleys. I personally own a 2005 Low Rider. I am 6 foot tall but skinny, so I added the forward controls from a wide glide. ($399.00) I would look for a 2005 or newer. They have Fuel Injected motors.
