I wouldn't recommend one for a first-time snake. The ROYAL PYTHON (Python regius) - to give its official name - is well-known for going on 'self-imposed fasts'. This means they can just stop eating for no apparent reason (and I speak from experience !)
Although a docile species, they are also a heavy-bodied snake and CAN reach lengths of 60 inches (1.5m) in length. Some of my own specimens are that length AND still growing !
They require height humidity (being a jungle species) and branches to climb on - with a daytime temperature of up to 30oC and a night-time drop of about 10oC
Yes a tree python is easy to keep as long as the basic requirements anr met
Green Tree Pythons live in Africa, Australia, and Southern Asia.
Pythons are a danger to tree kangaroos because tree kangaroos are smaller then the typical kangaroo so the python will strangle this animal and kill it right then and there.
Philippine eagles have killed and ate burmese pythons and small reticulated pythons. Harpy eagles prey on tree pythons. Martial eagles hunt for small african rock pythons.

Ball pythons, or Royal Pythons, are smaller snakes (4-6 feet) and are commonly kept as pets.Burmese Pythons are much larger and thicker than BP's and can grow up to around 18 feet (more commonly around 12-15)Reticulated Pythons are similar to Burmese Pythons but are normally thinner, longer and more aggressive than the Burmese.Green Tree Pythons are about the same size as Ball Pythons but are from New Guinea and dwell in trees while BP's are from Africa and are ground-dwellers. Both feed on small mammals.
Yes. Ball pythons are affectionate snakes and they will show it if you keep good care of them.
