For a hyper dog, or even for most dogs who are not working, you should feed a good quality dog food that has moderate or lower levels of protein. Many believe also that natural ingredients will help, rather than artificial additives.
A really good, super-premium food, such as Nutro's Natural Choice, is a good choice, while something higher in fat and protein could possibly contribute to your dog's hyperactivity (such as Eukanuba or any of the foods that say "performance" or "for working dogs"). Good, daily exercise is a MUST for all dogs, but especially important for a hyper dog.
