What is The Outsiders book about?

The book The Outsiders is different than many other books that I have read. It is About a Boy named Ponyboy his gang. Through out the book the members of the gang go through heart breaks and Ponyboy struggles. Ponyboy counts on his brothers and his friends. The gang, the greaser, have fights and problems with the Socs. The Socs are a vivious gang of rich kids whoes idea of a good time is beating up the Greasers. The major part of the story begins when one night someone takes it to far. I thought that it was a great book but was way different than most.

The Outsiders the movie is based on my favorite book the outsiders by: S.E HINTON. Its basically about a kid named ponyboy and his gang, he is a greaser, and has a tough life and when his best friend and member of the gang Johnney kills a soc, ponyboy and johnney run away to windrexville and johnney dies from trying to save the kids from the fire in the abandoned church. ponyboy lives and is reunited with with his two brothers because his parents died and dally died comitting suiside. that's pretty much it so ya, hope you like it!
