If someone has AB blood they can donate to others who have AB blood, but they can accept blood from people with all blood types because they have no antibodies.

What are adventage of having ab positive?

The chief advantage of having type AB positive blood is the ability to accept a blood donation from a person of any blood type. AB + is called the universal recipient.

You are o - to whom you can donate and from whom you can received blood?

You can donate you any blood type, but only accept type O- blood

What does o positive blood type mean?

The blood group O positive(O+) specifies that the person can donate his/her blood to any other person of same or different blood group. But, O+ can accept blood only from a person having same blood group (i.e O+) and not from any other group.

What types of blood can people who are O positive accept?

People with O blood can only accept O blood. this is because type O blood does not have any antigens. Types A, B, and AB blood have A or B antigens, or both, respectively. If a person receives blood with antigens their blood does not contain it will cause their blood to clot and they will die.

Who can type ab give blood too?

AB can give only to AB people, but people with AB blood type can accept any type.

What can a person with type B blood receive?

a person with O+/- blood can only receive O+/- blood respectively. O+ can give blood to any other + blood type, and O- can give blood to anyone.

What kind of person can receive any blood type?

AB can receive any blood type (depending whether you are - or +)

Who could an o negative blood give to?

If your blood type is O negative than you could give it to any person with any blood type.

Can o positive blood accept b positive blood?

No. There are 4 basic blood types: A, B, AB, and O O can be given to any of the above types HOWEVER the second factor in blood donation is the Rh factor. When a blood is said to be either - or + it is describing whither the blood does or does not have Rh antibodies in it. (An person with O+ blood has Rh antibodies) The only people that can get a + blood type are those who have a + blood type themselves. If a person who has a - blood type receives a + blood transfusion the body's immune system will see the Rh antibodies as invaders and try to attack the cells causing an inflammatory response by the body and the person can die. Therefore a person who is B- cannot receive O+ blood. O- is the "universal donor" because ANY blood type regardless of type or Rh status can receive that donor.

If a person with ab blood needs to receive blood which type should he receive O or A?

If a person has AB type blood then they can receive any type of blood. A extra factor you have to take into account is whether they are AB positive or AB negative. An AB+ person can take any blood while an AB- person can take any blood as long as its negative. For a chart showing the blood type compatibility see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_types#Red_blood_cell_compatibility

What is a universal blood recipient?

A person who is able to receive any blood type.

How might a technique to remove A and B antigens from red blood cells be used to increase the supply of donated blood?

That would be extremely useful if it can be developed. There are four types of blood: AB, A, B, and O. They are classifed by the antigens that they have. Type O blood has no antigens but it does have anti-A and anti-B antibodies, so it can only accept type O blood (although since it has no antigens, it can give blood to anyone). Type A blood has A antigens and anti-B antibodies so it can't accept any blood with B antigens in it (such as type B or AB). Type B blood has anti-A antibodies and can't accept A or AB blood. Type AB has A antigens and B antigens so it can't donate to any other blood besides AB (although it can receive any type of blood). If everyone was type O blood, and didn't have any antigens, then every type of blood would be able to receive it because the antibodies wouldn't have any antigens to react with so it would be accepted by anyone.
