Ibuprofen can be a irritant to the GI tract, and can sometimes cause bleeding, and alcohol only increases this risk. Ibuprofen also inhibits the liver's functions as well, so you would only be compounding that effect by adding alcohol.
I don't know but I myself am seeking the answer to this. I took two ibuprofen and about one hour later had one glass of wine. The next day I felt like I had the worse hangover ever - it lasted the entired day. I'm going to continue looking for the answer. However, I will err on the side of caution and not combine the two any longer.
