Their is no legal age to babysit!
it depends on how mature you are.
I think that you should be 12 and above depending on how mature you are. if you are 12 and as wild as a sqirrel than you should wait until your 13 or 14. when someone mistakes you for being 13 when your really 12 it must mean that you are mature enough to be a babysitter. however it's up to your parents because there the ones who are giving you the ride and they know how to price things and start the whole babysitter thing. one of my family members told me that i should start out with only one day a week.(P.S. most people profer if you have taken the babysitting class.)
Yes, Of course a 14 year old can babysit. But there is a disadvantage: It is kind of young. It is better to start babysitting at maybe 17 or 18. But if you really want to, it will be no problem. To start off you should start babysitting family members, and see how it works if its good, go on and begin babysitting others.
Most places do not have laws regarding age requirements. They have to be able to take care of the children they are watching. A 13 year old is typically considered old enough to watch another child for a few hours.

It really depends on where you live
You must be 14 years old to babysit a child in New Zealand.
You don't have to be a certain age to babysit at home. It is up to the parent and the parents of the children you are babysitting. The youngest age is usually 12.
