CAN - usually, yes. Most parking brakes are a lot weaker than the driving brakes, as they are only meant to stop the car from rolling away by itself.
To see what happens, look at the related question.
Apply the parking brake.
Put your foot on the brake, pu the car into drive and the parking break should disengage. if not, push on the parking break while holding the break in drive.
Shut the car off, engage the parking brake and when you turn the car back on the lights will stay off until you release the parking brake.
Yes, most definitely it will roll down the hill. When parking on a hill always set the parking brake. The park gear in an A/T can break, so do not take a chance. In drive the car will roll if the brake is not set.
drive with it off and have the parking brake inspected for damage.
get in a front wheel drive car with a few stacks of mcdonalds trays under the rear tires, put on the parking brake and drive around an empty parking lot making lots of turns :P
Yes, 1st gear and set the parking brake also.
no it wont as long as your parking break is not on . usually the light comes on to indicate that you are running low on break fluid
Either your parking brake is on or the BRAKE FLUID level is LOW in the brake master cylinder
Because it can roll away if it is on an incline if left in drive without setting the parking brake. In fact on some vehicles you cannot remove the key with the car in drive. It is a safety feature.
The Parking Brake
could be a problem with the sesor in the emergency brake. a bad connection there could cause the light to blink with the vibration of the car running On some cars, the brake warning light will blink if the parking brake is set, and you drive... it could be a failed parking brake switch, assuming the brake is not applied. It is supposed to blink to get your attention. One car that does this is the Mitsubishi Starion, there are probably some others, too.
