Only if your student loan agreement has a "co-signer release" clause that permits a co-signer's name to be removed after such a short period of time and/or a specified number of consecutive on-time monthly payments. Usually co-signer releases will be considered after 24-48 consecutive monthly payments and that the borrower's credit is good enough. There may be other restrictions as well. If there are extenuating circumstances to request an earlier release, check with your lender.

Apply for a low limit credit card - $100.00. Use it sparingly and make regular payments for 3 months, pay it off in the 4th month and repeat the cycle for 12 to 18 months. This will establish you as capable of making monthly payments on time and of paying off a debt to a $0 balance. Never be late with a payment.
No the co-signer is on for the life of the loan
Like the person said below me just call the bank and tell them the situation. I was in the same position as you last year. My cosigner wasnt someone as close, it is my boyfriends mother. I ignored the calls from her and the bank only to make myself look irresponsible. The whole time all i had to do was let people know i wasnt in a position to pay right then and there. If i had said something before 3 months passed i wouldve realized that my cosigner was already making those payments before they became deliquent and just wanted to tell me she was here to help. seems like we dont have all the facts in this situation. If you are 3 months behind, one your father and yourself will have been notified by the bank more than once. second, You say you are paying in one week? tell the bank this not us and problem is resolved! p.s. give the bank your address, dont put the burden on your father stand up and take responsibility for your actions. all part of growing up.
Yes, I know all Federal Student Loans start repayment 6 months after graduation.
That depends what the statements are.
9 months
Most "little" landlords - the ones without mega/multi units - do not run a credit check. Have the security deposit and first and last months rent ready and you'll find a place.
It is 6 months normally and in special family , student case it can be for 12 months or 9 months
You make your first student loan payment when you commence work and fill in a form for your taxes. There is a box asking if you have a student loan from if you have graduated over 12 months ago (you do not need to tick this box if you have not graduated over 12 months ago but you must get your employer to inform them when you have been working for 12 months)
