You may find that the mood changes resolve within a few weeks after the first injection, or they may persist.

In my experience & many others, heck yes! Within days of getting my 1st shot I was a complete mess & my emotions went from crying to screaming mad in a matter of minutes sometimes, it was like being possessed! & u cant do anything about it till it wears off. I haven't noticed any weight gain (another common side effect) just yet although i have been having crazy dreams every night since but the Depo definitely screwed with my mental state, I just wasn't me all off a sudden & this craziness just kept sneakin up on me without warning & I couldn't control my emotions. After doing some research I found that a lot of women have no problems & I am glad that it works for them but for me & alot of other women I have no doubt it ruined my life. Don't touch it if u have any history of depression or hormonal imbalance! I have 2weeks left until my 3mths is up & am just starting to feel normal again, will never touch it again.

I have been off of the Depo shot for 3 months now and I have lately been extremely depressed. The only thing that keeps me stable is excercise. I've been searching the net all over trying to find the same answer to this question

I would say yes, even though I've only been on the shot for almost 3 weeks I have been crying more, getting angry more, and i believe i exploded at my boyfriend for the first time even though we've been together for a long time and never had a fight. So i stand by yes it makes you emotional.
