No of course not _____________________ Yes, actually, they do have a sort of 'recess' in middle school. They're allowed out - usually for anywhere between 20-45 minutes - and then brought back inside. The only real difference is that there's usually little or no play equipment in middle school.

Why don't middle school's have recess?
Because by the time you reach middle school you are expected to be able to stick with study for a whole school day. Younger children have shorter attention spans. I can't answer the question because I am trying to bring recess back to my daughter's middle school. Recess isn't just for playing. Its for getting a drink or a snack, using the bathroom or to just destress until the next class. Our high school has a 20 min. brunch between 2 and 3rd period as does the elementary school. So why do the middle school kids suffer when no one else does? omg u couldn't have been more right
