It is possible yes.
There are a few ways to do this. One method, phone cloning, lets someone intercept incoming messages and send outgoing ones as if their phone were the original. If both phones are near the same broadcast tower, they could also listen in on calls.
To clone a phone, the person would have to make a copy of its SIM card, which stores the phone's identifying information. This requires a SIM reader that can read the card's unique cryptographic key and transfer it to another phone. (Warning: This is super illegal.)
To prevent someone from doing this, make sure that your phone is always directly in your possession, never left around where other people have easy access.
The only people that have access to your text messaging is your service provider. Although, your phone could be hacked into and if they can steal pictures I'm sure they can steal messages especially if you have them saved on your SIM card.
Nobody can get the actual text messages and what they say without a court order. All they can get is the same info that shows on the bill if you have detailed billing. They can get the date/time they were sent/received and what numbers they were sent to/from.
MEGAN SPOUTS OFF STATISTICS THAT SUGGEST COVID-19 KILLS AFRICANS AMERICANS MORE THAN WHITES, SHE FAILED TO ADD SOME REASONS FOR THIS DISPARITY.SHE FAILS TO REALIZE THE ONLY INEQUALITY IN THE CITED NUMBERS IS THE FACT THAT BLACK FOLKS DON'T HAVE ROOM TO ISOLATE A SICK MEMBER, HAVE TO CHOOSE WHETHER TO BUY MASKS OR BUY CEREAL FOR HUNGRY CHILDREN, OR BUY DISINFECTANT WIPES, EVEN IF THE NEIGHBOR HOOD STORE EVEN STOCKS THEM, OFTEN HAVE JOBS THAT REQUIRED THEM TO BE IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH PEOPLE IF THEY HAVE JOBS AT ALL! HEALTH CARE IS NOT AVAILABLE. NO WE ARE NOT WEAKER OR MORE PRONE TO DISEASES SUCH AS COVID-19 - JUST MORE PRONE TO UNEQUAL HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, HEALTH CARE, HOMELESSNESS (think gentrification). Megan, spouting off statistics w/o content can lead to misleading conclusions. Wish Joy had been there today to help you!
