turtles and tortoises can live out of water 4 quite a long time.but turtles cANNOT walk prperly on the land and need some moisture to prevent their skin from drying.but that's not the same 4 tortoises...........they can live out of water as much as they want and some tortoises only come inside water to have a bath weeklY!!!!!
answer- i don't know about tortise but turtles need water to eat they can only swallow their food under water

∙ 15y agoAquatic turtles can be taken out of the water but when you do take it out of the water dont take it out very long when its back is all dry that usaly means to put it back in the water for a while.
