Usually, the answer is no, not if they have been convicted. I am sure there are a few officers who have committed felonies and just have not been caught. There was a wanted criminal who took a job with the police. He made one serious mistake on his first day there. He ran his ID in the computer and was immediately arrested.

A person with a minor misdemeanor offense can be hired so long as a number of years have passed between the conviction date and the present time.

Anyone convicted of a felony or charges of domestic abuse are not eligible for hire. Some states preclude DUI convictions as well.

Your best advise is check the state statutes regarding law enforcement employment in the state you are applying.

Felons are not capable of becoming law enforcement officers in the United States, or most other countries.

The rare exception is when the felon has their felony expunged, but even then it's a slight chance.

In Florida you have to get a pardon on the felony, which allows you to get certified to be a officer in Florida. But then, you still have to find a department that will hire you.

No. Probation Officers are considered to be part of the judicial and law enforcement systems. An ex-felon will not be employed in such a position.

Probably not. You are forbidden to have a firearm by federal law.

Additional: Defense attorneys would make a joke of your credibility while attempting to give testimony in a case you brought to court.

Yes, nothing in any state's marriage laws prevent that. In the event that a parole officer were married to a convicted felon, the parole officer simply would be prohibited from doing anything that would be a conflict of interest with the sworn duties of a parole officer and would certainly not be allowed to have any official function on matters involving the spouse.
