Graduating from high school is not an emancipating event, nor does Ohio have an emancipation statute. I suppose you could move out if you had parental permission, but you would not be considered emancipated and your parents would still be responsible. No, even though one has graduated from high school, the state's law regarding the legal age of majority is 18. Ohio law does not contain emancipation status of an underaged person. In some cases it is possible to petition the court for early emancipation rights. Cases of those type are adjudicated on their individual merits in accordance with Ohio's Juvenile Codes.

Some businesses require it and some don't. I think at 16 years old most places don't need one, but you should still probably get one from your school, to be safe.
