Best Answer

Yes, but you will gain no extra functionality from doing so, and if the machine was actually intended to be used as a server, you will likely lose a great deal.

It is very likely that there will be problems running Windows XP on a machine designed to run with Windows 2003. Since the machine did not yet exist when XP was released, there is a good chance that the XP installation media will not have drivers suitable for the machine to run at its best. The graphic display may have to run in a lower resolution compatibility mode. It is even possible that the controller for hard drive, and other devices may not work at all.
