It depends on the kids ... mostly.
I did - but that was 60 years ago. (yes, we're still on speaking terms with each other). If you mean for long periods of time, then no. Legally, a child has to be at least 12 years old just be left home alone. A twelve year old is not emotionally mature enough to be responsible for the amount of care, time, and attention a 4 year old requires. And it would not be fair to the 12 year old to place such a huge responsibility on him. But if you need him to watch your 4 year old for a short while so you can tend to some household chores at home, then that should be fine - as long as you, or another adult is there.
The contradictory responses on what age is appropriate to begin to babysit is absurd. Let's be perfectly clear, it depends on the child. I know of 32 year olds who should not babysit. However, my 10 year old son is responsible, intelligent and knows safety procedures such as CPR and The Heimlich and to phone 911 at the same time. I feel perfectly safe when he cares for his younger sibling while I run errands or during date night with my husband.u r asposta be 11
It depends on how responsible someone can be. It would be wise to learn a few things like FIRST AID, CPR, and how to properly deal with situations while help arrives.
And it also depends how the two other kids behave. If they are really mischievous most of the time, it would probably be recommended to not have the 16 year old do it if they can't handle it.
When the 16yr. old starts to babysit, tell them where the emergency numbers are, flashlights, etc... AND REMIND THEM OF ANY SEVERE Allergies (life-Threatening) AND HOW TO TREAT IT.
Hope That helps.
Probably not. I would highly not suggest it. If you are desperate, think about how responsible and mature the twelve year old is, and how orderly and rule following the two babysitees are.
It might end up just ok, but it really is taking a chance. And if something bad happened, would the 12 year old be able to successfully keep calm and keep track of the kids and keep everything in order? Or if someone got hurt (assuming its a rather normal injury) would they know what to do?
no i wouldnt leave a 12 year old in charge of a 5 year old as 5 year olds are a handful for an adult to keep on track a 12 year old would not know what to do in a serious situation if the 5year old was after falling and banged his head a 12 year old wouldnt know not to let the child sleep straight after and certain things like that so my advice is not to allow that
Yes, a 12 or 13 year old would be allowed to watch an 89 and a 10 year old at the same time.
No.
The under 12 must be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over.
It depends on how Mauture your 12 year old is.
Eastenders is perfectly fine for a 12 year old to watch even though it does sometimes contain inappropriate scenes.
yes a 12 year old should if they are responsible enough
yes..unless your 12 year old is a little slow..
You cannot make 12 year old look like 10 year old. You can do makeup to hide the age.
10 year old watch this online and I think its ok to play for kids 9+ but you can woohoo but you don't see it
no of corse not
there isn't really an age limit me and my little brother watch is and we're 19 and 12. just watch a couple of episodes decide if you like it and if you do watch it. there is not any "adult" content in it and if there is it isn't much since i overlooked it.
While there is no law to say yes or no, the authorities are not going to look at this favorably. There are several reasons: Most people believe a 12 or 13 year old can be left alone for a few hours in the day. The 9 year old is going to disobey the ten year old. The 10 year old is not old enough to know what to do in an emergency.
