It was Bonn. Let's be clear on this: Bonn was the capital of the FDR, the Federal Republic of Germany, West Germany. But the DDR, the Deutches Democratik Republik, The Ge…rman Democratic Republic, East Germany, the capital was Berlin. And no, I am not for one moment suggesting East Germany was democratic, but that was its name......
What directly led to the eventual division of Germany into the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic?
Yalta Conference (1945)
Berlin. *After World War II, Germany was partitioned and occupied. The areas occupied by the US, the UK, and France were combined in 1948 to form West Germany. The area occu…pied by the Soviet Union became East Germany. West Germany's capital was established in Bonn, while East Germany's capital was Berlin. The Western half of the city became the enclave known as West Berlin, which was considered part of neither Germany. East and West Germany were reunified in 1990, and by 1999 Berlin was again the seat of government.
Aden (sometimes spelled Adan)
The capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (which is also called North Korea) is PYONGYANG (평양).
They united (or reunited) in 1990 and the country is called the Federal Republic of Germany.
The name Federal Republic of Germany originally applied to "West Germany" but is now the name for all of reunified Germany. From its founding in 1949 until reunification in 19…90, the capital of West Germany was Bonn. It continued as the seat of government until early 1999. After reunification the federal parliament voted to move the capital back to Berlin which is considered a separate "state" within the republic.
The capital of the German Democratic Republic, also known as East Germany, was Berlin.
The GDR was what was known as East Germany. A Soviet dominated member of the Warsaw Pact it was notorious as a testing ground for some of the worst excesses of social experime…ntation. The 'Democratic' bit is a grave misnomer I am sorry to say: It was anything but....
Kinshasa is the capital of the "Democratic Republic of the Congo." To its west, Brazzaville is the capital of Congo (the Republic of the Congo).
Kinshasa (DRC) and Brazzaville (Republic of Congo)
The two countries are neighbors, but the DRC is much larger than the ROC. Kinshasa is the capital of the "Democratic Republic of the Congo." To its west, Brazzaville is the… capital of "Congo" (the Republic of the Congo).
East Berlin and Bonn
The capital of East Germany (GDR) was East Berlin.
For nearly five decades after the end of World War II, East and West Germany existed as separate nations. Reunited in 1990, the once-separate states are now known as the "…Bundesrepublik Deutschland"; in English, the Federal Republic of Germany.
