Yes and no. Like most presidents, Barack Obama disagreed with the policies of the president who came before him (in this case President Bush). Mr. Obama did change some of Mr. Bush's policies-- eliminating waterboarding, for example, and bringing our troops home from Iraq. He also had a different view on social issues than Mr. Bush; President Obama supported marriage equality and he supported stem cell research, just to name two issues. Also, President Obama and his team completed the task of finding Osama Bin Laden and bringing him to justice, which President Bush was never able to achieve. But in some cases, Mr. Obama has continued the policies of his predecessor, such as renewing the Patriot Act and continuing to use drones as a tool to go after foreign terrorists.

Barack Obama attempted to address some of the challenges and issues left behind by the George W. Bush administration. He worked to stabilize the economy after the 2008 financial crisis and implemented the Affordable Care Act to expand healthcare access. Additionally, Obama sought to end the Iraq War and refocus military efforts on Afghanistan. However, opinions on the success of these actions and whether they completely fixed the perceived mistakes of the previous administration vary.
