Based on what i know Robin Hood did exist , reason for is because back then lunitics and poor people didn't yell joy for nothing. And what about all those complaints of disappearing goods.A animal or ghost wouldn't do that and how come red was there everytime walking or disappearing.its obvious robin hood is real.
No. The story comes from the 1200's when there were bards that travelled around telling stories. This was a time when people couldn't read or write, but they still liked to hear a good story. A " hood" was a highway man or robber and the story was a very simple tale describing the life of a man like that. As time went on characters were added and the story grew. One of the earliest characters added was Little John. Much later Maid Marion was added and in the 1800's the story took a dramatic change and was first published. Modern versions have added all sorts of things in books and movies. Today you can go to England and visit the area that Robin Hood was living. Some historians think he could have been a landholder named Robin Lockly, but there is no grave or proof that this man ever lived. The theory about the oral tradition seems to be the best one. There is proof that the story was told in the 1200's and how it grew.

Yes, at some point it is believed that someone in a similar role as Robin Hood did exist, and there were persons with similarly-translated names. But there is no firm historical evidence he existed with that name, and in the activities described in ballads and other folklore.
