Both Hinduism and Buddhism are firmly based on the concept of karma, reincarnation and rebirth. Both also believe in transmigration, or that one can be born at different levels of existence (insect, fish, animal, etc.). Specifically Buddhism posits that, unless you become freed from Samasara, the Wheel of Life, that you will be reborn in one of six realms: hell, hungry ghost, animal, human, demi-god or gods realm, each with their own type of suffering.
