Taoism seeks to eliminate judgment, in that each polar concept exists because of its opposite. For example, beauty only exists because of the concept of ugliness, just as good and evil depend on each other for their existence.
The taoist outlook on good and evil is very different from the typical Christian view of good and evil. To a taoist, the purest actions are those that are gentle and move with the force and rhythms of nature. If your actions are aggressive, involve a lot of energy and push against the rhythm of nature, they would be viewed by a taoist as unwise. Tao means "the way" - the whole religion recommends moving like water, choosing the path of least resistance and remaining conscious and efficient in all of your actions. Example: murder is hard. It involves a lot of planning, deception, violence, and eventually the pain of being caught or living with your guilt. It is "evil" to a taoist only because it is rarely the "way" your life force is leading you. It is much simpler and efficient to change yourself, to either avoid the person or to find a way to accept their inner nature rather than to destroy them. In fighting, Taoists developed an insanely useful fighting style - they just Dodge and move until their opponent tires out. This is the path of least force, of least resistance, and therefore the path that is "good."
Taoists do not believe that there is evil in the world. They believe that evil is an excuse that humans create for the psychological experiences designed for the human life.
