Some have learned to mimic human words, but they do not understand their meaning.
cockatiels CAN talk. but it requires persistance and a lot of patients, there are a lot of theorys that if you record a tape of your voice and play it over and over again, this does work! but the cockatiel will get bored and only learn a couple of words. the other way is to cover the cage with something dark, and say phraises to it. or you could go under the blanket and talk directly to it, saying "good boy/girl" or "pretty parrot". i hope helped :DDD
Both male and female cockatiels are capable of talking.
However, it is generally acceptad that males are far better talkers than females. Male cockatiels tend to be louder and vocal. Females tend to be quieter ; you may notice that often your femail tiel "calls" out to you when you are in another room. She may tweet, squawk, whistle, and sometimes imitate other sounds. Very rarely, however, you do encounter femail tiels that can actually "talk."
It should be noted that if you are looking for a pet bird that talks, a cockatiel may not be the choice for you. Both males and females, even very vocal tiels, are not generally great at learning words like some other parrots or minah birds. They are, however, very good singers - they are rhythmical and learns to whistle some tunes if you are patient in teaching your bird.
Cockatoos imitate speech very effectively. However, while there are always some individual differences, generally they cannot "talk", as in stringing together meaningful sentences in reponse to stimuli.

Yes cockatels talk but only if they are a male sometimes on rare occasions the female will talk but only with intense training but even then your pushing your luck Im am a cockatiel owner and I know that the males are chatter boxes
when you say hear i gather you mean understand, they cant actually understand the words but they can understand the intonation and feeling ie if your angry they understand that in you voice. they can mimic though.
Unfortunately, no. BTW they don't whistle either. Male cockatiels is the one that will or can be taught to talk and whistle.
Male cockatiels are adept at imitating sounds. They do not "speak", but they imitate sounds of people talking, and can therefore copy words.
62% of all cockatiels sold in stores are males.
Contrary to popular belief, female cockatiels can learn to speak, it's just not as common as males.
more protective of the female.and may be scared or frightened, you can stop cockatiels from biting by distracting them with treats.
Yes, that's how you get more cockatiels.
No. Macaws are bigger. Cockatiels are only 12 inches long, and their bodyshape on slender. Smallest macaw, Red-Shouldered Macaw, is about the same lenght, but is much more sturdy, and has lot bigger beak.
No, cockatiels should only be housed with other cockatiels. Not only do other types of birds have different types of diets, but they also have different personalities and will sometimes clash with cockatiels.
Yes you can ! It is more than ideal to take the male out of the cage !
Lutino cockatiels are a colour not a gender. However, it does happen that because of the genetics and chromosones they are most often female although there are some males lutinos around (or there wouldn't be any left.)
Yes, cockatiels can get parasites.
Cockatiels are a type of cockatoo.
It depends on your preferences. If you prefer a quieter bird and don't mind if they won't talk or whistle, female is the way to go. If you don't mind occasional hard bites and is willing to take on a talking and whistling bird, male is better.
The sexual organs are located near the rear of the bird. Both male and female birds have a sexual organ that is called the cloaca.
