Yes. Eight , hence " Octo" .

Actually that is incorrect. Octopus have 8 arms. Only squids have tentacles. Tentacles are those long arms on the squid which is meant for grabbing prey. Octopus have eight arms not tentacles. TELL ALL!!!

Fish do not have tentacles - even though some of the names would seem so. Cuttlefish, Jellyfish etc.

Why aren't octopuses and squids in the same group as jellyfish even though they both have tentacles?

The answer is very simple. Jellyfish are cnidarians. Octopi are not. Because the octopus does not have the same head structure as the jellyfish. Also octopi are cephalopods. They are closer to mollusks in the bases of things but the tentacles are different. Just because they have tentacles does not mean they are in the same categories. But octopi and squid are in the same category as mollusks such as snails. That is a different story though. But that is why they are not the same.

All mollusks have a radula, or toothy tongue, a mantle, or thin layer of tissue that covers the organs and makes the shell, and a muscular foot.

How many tentacles does a snail have?

Most snails, like many mollusks, have a ribbon-like structure called a radula in their mouths. Radulae have numerous rows of teeth, the exact number of which may vary. Some carnivorous snails eat the soft flesh of other mollusks after using their radulae to bore through the shells of their prey.
