Prince Charles was having an affair with Camilla while married to Princess Diana. As Princess Diana did a lot for charity and genuinely seemed to care for people, she was very popular.
So no Camilla isn't liked by many who 'loved' Diana.

Most people will choose the highest they have, and hence he's called Prince Charles. But as an opposing example, his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, goes by the title of the Duchess of Cornwall, rather than a higher title she owns, Princess of Wales.
