Quarantine is a legally mandated separation from the rest of society. People in a few other countries were formally quarantined when they had flu symptoms in the initial phases of the A-H1N1/09 pandemic. The US did not force people into quarantine during the pandemic, however, and relied on public education with widely available information about protecting yourself and others from the flu.

Separation, however, was highly recommended as one of the only safeguards before vaccination was available. People were advised to stay home and at least 6 feet away from others who may have or may get the flu. Other than vaccination now available, that is still the best way to avoid the flu.

well, If you don't have any symptoms, you probably should get checked over by a doctor, and to see if anything can be used for Swine Flu, if you have it. I don't know if you can have Swine Flu and not know though...Hope I helped...

Some countries are separating people from the general population in hospitals or in a quarantine upon arrival to the country at airports or when tests confirm or suspect the flu among the citizens, but as more is known about the virus, some are loosening those measures. Depending on the country, you probably can find the answer to that at the ministry of health or public health and safety organizations within the country. There may also be information on this at the US State Department which has issued guidelines for US travelers traveling internationally. Or at the World Health Organization Regional organizations.
