No, Swine Flu is just one strain of the many flu viruses. Flu is an abbreviation for influenza. So Swine Flu is a type of flu, but all flu is not the swine flu, there are other kinds.

Swine flu is a flu very similar to the regular flu. Tamiflu is a medicine that you take when you have swine flu or other types of influenza.

No. It was proved to be a different strand of Swine flu.

The symptoms of swine flu are the same as other more common flu strains. There is no way of knowing if your flu was the swine flu without laboratory testing.

No, the swine flu is not hereditary. It is a virus. It is caught in the same manner as the "regular flu" that goes around every year.

Swine Flu (and other H1N1 flu viruses) is a Type A influenza, but all Type A influenza viruses are not swine flu, or other H1N1 viruses. Swine flu is just one of many subtypes of Type A influenza. Swine Flu is caused by the Type A H1N1/09 Virus.

No you cant get it from avian flu directly, because swine flu is literally pig flu, so it originated from pigs, or so the name says. Same thing for avian flu, its, bird flu. S.o no, but you can get swine flu from birds, because flus can be carried from organisms to organisms. So, cutting it short, you can't get it from avian flu, but you can get it from a bird that has swine flu. A bit tedious but that's my answer.

We usually are only sick from one type of flu at a time. So an otherwise healthy person probably won't be sick with the swine flu at the same time they have the regular flu. But after you are over the regular flu, you could get the swine flu if exposed and if you did not get the vaccination to prevent it.

Yes, Since the regular flu and the Swine flu are DIFFERENT, then you can still get it. The Swine flu often hits harder though. by that i mean, worser. The person can get Swine flu right after a regular flu OR if a person has regular flu it CAN turn into the Swine. Halleworld

The swine flu is PURPLE. :]

No, they are not.Seasonal flu is a fairly general term for varieties of flu that come and go with the seasons.'Swine flu' relates to one particular type of flu which is prevalent today over much of the world.

No. Swine flu (H1N1) is a subtype of the influenza A virus.

Just because your child has the swine flu, doesn't mean you do. Your child could get the swine flu even if you don't have it currently.

The swine flu shot is used to prevent the flu, not to treat the flu if you already have it. To treat the flu, antiviral medications are more likely to be prescribed, such as Tamiflu.

If not treated, swine flu is fatal.

yes a swine flu shot!

Yes it is It can be, yes. But seasonal flu kills more than swine flu does by a large margin. Swine flu is normally not fatal.

No it's not a joke. The proper name for swine flu is H1N1 Flu.

Smoking can attract swine flu only if you are sharing a cigarette with someone who has swine flu.

Most people who are not vaccinated against the swine flu or who have not had the swine flu will get it if exposed to it. Those who have had the vaccines will be immune.

Texans should use the same measures as anyone else to prevent swine flu infections. See the related question below for how to avoid swine flu.
