Best Answer

Yes if it is a direct quote. The best results come from the MLA Official Handbook.

Citations? Quotes must be written verbatim, but if you're talking about citations in a bibliography (author, title, publisher, etc.) there are some shortcuts.

For example, if there are multiple authors of a book, you might right Name X, Name Y, et al. Check out online manuals for more information on citations.
