No you don't, when you install a remote start, it will come with a transponder for it, if you go to get it installed at a place like bestbuy it will come with a remote start transponder after they install it for you.

The key remote? or the actual starter its self like valet starter..
What does a remote starter have to do with the wipers? Just turn them off when stopping the car, and then when you use the remote starter, the next time, the wipers will not come on. If the wipers are not on then they will not work, no matter if you are using a remote starter or not.
yes, car will not start
The transponder is in the head of the key. The antennae for the transponder is the plastic ring around where the key is inserted. It can be bypassed by putting the head of the key under the cover of the column, next to the antennae. A normal mechanical key would then start the vehicle. Useful in remote start applications.
Needs remote starter installed
Not that hard, it's located on the back side of the motor. Make sure it's the starter. You can test it with a remote starter. My car has the problem with the ignition, because it started when I hooked up the remote.
Locksmith or dealer

that's has nothing to do with a remote start and if your asking that question you should seek professional installation.

All of the late-model Ford Rangers have a starter with a solenoid, and the older models have a remote starter solenoid. Both are covered. The remote starter solenoid is located on the passenger-side fenderwell. This means that a small-sized starter can fit in tighter locations. It also allows for a cheaper repair if just the solenoid goes bad.
