No you don't. You can create an online account so that any creations you make are instantly uploaded for all to see but that's really it. If you're happy with the basic spore then you don't need the internet, but for updates and patches then the internet is a must have.

∙ 14y agoSpore needs internet it's a rip off. I bought the galactic edition and when I finaly got done instaling it it turns out you need internet. I spent the whole day crying. Now till I'm eighten years old I can get internet. Now I have to play on my moms computer 10 minutes every FRIDAY!
