No, I do not believe that Minneapolis lacks diversity. Sometimes diversity is a relative term that hold a lot of emotional meaning. My opinion is that Minneapolis has a great deal of diversity, in that there are opportunities to experience a variety of cultures and evaluate many different opinions. • Population (2006 estimate) - 372,833 (compared to 5.2 million for all of Minnesota)
  • Persons under 18 years old - 22.0% (compared to 26.2% for all of Minnesota)
  • Persons 65 years old and over - 9.1% (12.1% MN)
  • Females - 49.8% (50.5% MN)
  • Black - 18.0% (3.5% MN)
  • Asian Descent - 6.1% (2.9% MN)
  • Hispanic or Latino origin - 7.6% (2.9% MN)
  • Language other than English spoken at home - 19.3% (8.5% MN)
  • High School Graduates - 85.9% (87.9% MN)
  • College Graduate - 37.4% (27.4% MN)
  • Black-owned firms - 9.0% (1.8% MN)
  • Women-owned firms - 33.2% (27.9% MN)

In the Old South, agriculture was primarily focused on cash crops such as cotton, tobacco, and sugar cane, leading to a lack of agricultural diversity. The dominance of these crops was driven by factors such as soil quality, climate suitability, and market demand, which limited the variety of crops grown in the region. How might the lack of genetic diversity found in populations of endangered species might hinder their recovery?

Lack of genetic diversity can becomes a problem when a species is hit with infectious diseases. If all the organisms are very similar, then it is very likely that they will all be affected by the same disease, thus destroying the species as a whole. In species with high amounts of genetic diversity, a disease may destroy a section of the population, but many individuals will be resistant to the disease.
