First off, I wondered the same thing myself, and upon doing a search, I discovered your question. I think that Stephen King left this open for the reader to decide. He wrote that while she was in the hospital after being saved, she "floated away into sleep."
From a literal standpoint, Trisha could have fallen into an exhausted sleep, and awoken some time later.
Figuratively, it can be taken that she passed on in her sleep as a result of all the physical and mental stress that she endured while lost, not to mention a serious case of pneumonia.
Personally, I like to think that she did not die, and that she recovered her health, and her family resumed life. However, the reader can take it as they wish. To find the real answer, one would probably have to ask Mr. King himself!... but even he may not have decided for sure.
This was a great book (a thrift store find), and I was hooked on it all day long today until I finally finished it.
Good question,
JW
