YEP. Just had my right one replaced cuz it was melted.
Driver's side, after the catalytic converter.
On a V6 or V8 engine, the passenger side cylinders are bank one, so the catalytic converter on the passenger side will be bank one. The driver's side is bank two.
I believe bank 1 sensor 1 is Passenger side before catalytic converter. sensor 2 is after catalytic converter. bank 2 sensor 1 is Driver side before catalytic converter. sensor 2 is after catalytic converter.
Bank 1 is the driver's side, bank 2 is the passenger side. Then you will have sensor 1 and sensor 2. Sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter (closest to the engine), and sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter. So Bank 1, Sensor 2 is: the driver's side , after the catalytic converter.
There are typically 4. * Driver Side Cylinder Bank (front) * Passenger Side Cylinder Bank (rear) * Before 3rd Catalytic Converter * After 3rd Catalytic converter
I believe there are ( 4 ) Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine , sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter ( upstream ) and sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter ( downstream ) Bank 2 is the driver side of the engine , sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter ( upstream ) and sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter ( downstream ) The 2 sensors before the catalytic converter are used for air / fuel ratio for the engine The 2 sensors after the catalytic converter are called catalyst monitors
Bank 1 Sensor 1- driver's side exhaust pipe Bank 1 Sensor 2-right before catalytic converter Bank 1 Sensor 3- right after catalytic converter Bank 1 Sensor 1- passenger side exhaust pipe Bank 1 Sensor 1- driver's side exhaust pipe Bank 1 Sensor 2-right before catalytic converter Bank 1 Sensor 3- right after catalytic converter Bank 2 Sensor 1- passenger side exhaust pipe
The Catalytic Converter will run close to a thousand bucks, of course, installation is extra. Also worth mentioning - the Passat has 2 CatalyticConverters, one on the driver's side and one on the passenger's side.Total cost could run 2-3 thousand.
Driver side
Bank 1 is the passenger side exhaust pipe that leaves the engine and turns into your catalytic converter and extends to the muffler and ends as exhaust pipe on the passenger side. Sensor 2 would be downstream and behind or after the catalytic converter. Bank two is driver's side, and sensor 2 again is the sensor after the cat.
bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine in your Ford Mustang , and sensor 2 is after the exhaust has passed through the catalytic converter ( downstream )
Im thinking that it might be the catalytic converter.....YOu might want to check on that..DOes it smell like anitfreeze? Hope this helped....
