No.
Root beer was at one time made in essentially the same way as beer (MASH up a bunch of stuff, let it ferment), but it has never been made out of beer.
Modern root beer is made like all other sodas: by adding flavoring and sweeteners to carbonated water. Under the old method, root beer could be (very mildly) alcoholic; under the new method, it's completely non-alcoholic.
Modern commercial "root beer" is generally not made with yeast at all.
In traditional formulations, "root beer" meant exactly what it sounds like: beer made from roots (specifically, the roots of the sassafras plant). The yeast did what yeast does: partially ferment the sugars into ethanol, and also introduce some carbonation into the liquid.
Its only considered Beer, if and when you can see pieces of Roots from the Beer Plant at the Bottom of the bottle. If No Roots are present, then the Root beer is alcohol free.
You do know that " Root Beer Rag " is illegal in most parts of the Globe, do you not? Well, if you didn't know...now you know😊

Yeast is one of the primary sources of the flavoring of a beer. You can use pretty much any sort of yeast when making alcoholic beverages. But it will make a difference in the flavor of the beer.

No yeast, is the fermenting agent used to make beer.
not sure whaqt you mean but the process is the same with all alcohol manufacture. the yeast turns sugar to alcohol and co2 as a by product. the yeast will die off as it cant live in its feceas foreever.l like we cant live in our own poo/ very similiar.
They all need yeast to make them.
