We don't know for sure, but what we do know is that He created us so that we could have the pleasure of knowing Him on an intimate and intellectual level. He created us so we could enjoy something we would never have otherwise, His perfection. Since He IS perfect, this IS a gift. He created us for us. He was perfect without us. That, therefore, shows us how great His love is for us.
