My 2 cents worth: this is why eating snow is not a good idea. As it requires more energy to turn it into water while keeping at an average temperature than is gained by eating it in the first place. If your out in your yard it is fine, but if your lost or stranded you have to try to melt it somehow.when you eat too many cold things like ice cubes you will have fever that cause your tempreture to be higher.
