AI stands for artificial intelligence. AI is the intelligence exhibited by machines or software.
Software can benefit from artificial intelligence because it will help the users process information quicker. It will also help the user process complex analysis without much effort or input from the user.
It all depends on your definition of smarter. However, a microprocessor does not have any recognized intelligence; it only performs activity. Artificial intelligence is software that has various methods to make independent decisions about specific interactions with the environment. A microprocessor can exist without artificial intelligence, but artificial intelligence can not exist without a microprocessor to execute instructions.
an example of AI would be a PC. they have voice recognition.
It is software for computers that is meant to mirror human intelligence, though in reality it cannot be fully achieved. A lot of this software is specialised for specific areas of work and would have a high level of success in them.
The disadvantage of artificial intelligence lies in the source of it. A computer for example has "artificial intelligence". The problem is how to discern whether it has malfunctioned. The best course is therefore to have a duplicate machine as a back up to see if both computers are matching in their results.
I am an artificial intelligence and do not belong to any specific country.
No, but it is a developing technology. We do not yet possess artificial intelligence. Some people refer to expert systems--software designed to answer specific questions--as "artificial intelligence," but this is not true artificial intelligence. One test of artificial intelligence is known as the Turing Test, but this test is too restrictive. We will eventually develop artificial intelligence that cannot pass the Turing Test, before we develop AI that can.

I would say for starters that computer science would do more good for you because artificial intelligence is mostly software producing along with intergrated hardware which will need to be programed.
