President Gerald Ford.
In 1972, President Nixon and Vice President Agnew were elected to a second 4 year term.
Vice President Agnew resigned after being convicted of bribery charges in 1973. President Nixon appointed Rep. Gerald Ford (MI-5) the House Minority Leader to fill Agnew's position. Nixon himself then resigned in 1974 facing the possibility of criminal prosecution stemming from Watergate. Vice President Ford therefore became President Ford.
In 1976, President Ford was defeated by Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter, in the Presidential elections of that year.
Ford thus served 1 year as Vice-President and 2 years President without being elected to either office.
