If you have data in rows that you want to change into columns, or vice versa, you use the Transpose facility in Paste Special. First copy the cells you want to transpose. Put the cursor on the cell where you want the data to go. Then go to the Edit menu, or the shortcut menu, by right clicking the mouse, and select Paste Special. Tick the Transpose box and click OK. The data will be copied to the new location and changed to the way you want it.

Columns and rows can be swapped by transposing them. You can copy a row of cells and using Paste Special and the Transpose option the data can be put into columns. You can do the same with data in columns and transpose them into rows. There is also a Transpose function in Excel.
