I don't know. Mine is burnt and trying find a replacement but not able to find it. If anyone knows then please let me know
From what I've read it does not initially support FAT32 file system, but if you hook it up to your PC you should be able to set up a FAT32 partition on your FreeAgent for use with the PS3, I personally have not tried this but I plan to when my 1TB FreeAgent arrives, I'll edit this answer once I find out exactly how this works.
The best brand of storage drives are either FreeAgent or Seagate. Whatever you do, do not get Western Digital. They always die on me whenever I use their drives.
I have a seagate hard. It is a very good one.
They both have identical functions for playback abilities. the FreeAgent Theater+ however uses an older external hard drive design (FreeAgent Go) for it's drive bay that has been discontinued. The GoFlex TV uses the newer external drive in it's bay (FreeAgent GoFlex) for it's drive bay that is their current standard, at least as of this writing Jan 2012. Both also have USB 2.0 ports that allow playback from most any external hard drive whether it's made by Seagate or not, so even if you don't have a drive that fits in the bay you can still use hard drives via USB. At this time both have been discontinued and SeaGate has given no indications of bringing back any version of them. I use mine still for playback of my videos that I've converted from my DVD collection as it's much easier to carry that around than a library of discs, and I will probably continue to use them for a long time to come.
You can. The Seagate hard drives connect from USB. There is a FreeAgent Go now using Mac interface. I believe it is 320 GB. The price is probably around $100.
The hard drive does not require drivers on modern operating systems. Windows ME, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and Linux all include a generic driver that will work with the drive.
you can buy the Seagate Barracuda at three websites online. amazon, seagate, and newegg. Amazon sells Seagate Barracuda new and used for $41.55 and up.
