Christians have grown sloppy in their references to God and Jesus, thus, leading to many questioning how Jesus, if he is the son of God, can be God. The word "God" is a reference to the Triune Diety, also known as the Trinity, which is One God with three persons. This is not to say that there are three seperate personalities within one God.
It is simply saying that just as a body is composed of (simply put) three seperate parts (the head, the arms, and the legs), God is also comprised of three seperate persons. Just as the "head" of a man is just as much a part of the man, as the arms and legs are, besides for what it means to be the arms and legs individually, Jesus is a person of God, encompassing all that it means to be God, except for what it means to be the Father or the Spirit (the two other persons of the Triune God). To clarify, Jesus is as much as it means to be God, except for what it means to be the Father and the Spirit, just as your head is as much as it means to be you, except for what it means to be your arms and your legs.
In conclusion, Jesus is God, because he fills the role of son in the Triune aspect of God. When Christians refer to Jesus as the Son of God, people often picture them as two separate beings, while the reference of Son is merely a means of reference to the position in the Triune God.
Another View:
Think of it this way: John Smith is the father of Robert Smith. Robert then is the son of John Smith, but he is also a Smith.
Currently, the Scripture describes 2 divine beings in the Godhead. Introduced as 'Elohim' in Genesis 1, when we let The Bible explain itself, we read in John 1:1-4 that 'the Word' or 'logos' in the Greek, is the other part of 'Let us' or Elohim of Genesis.
In the New Testament, The Word became Jesus, the Christ (John 1:14) who sits at the right hand of the Father. He is God but also His incarnate Son - the first of the firstborn of the soon to be revealed God Family of tens of billions of sons and daughters (see Romans 8:29; Colossians 1:15-18; Revelation 1:15; 2 Corinthians 6:18, and many others).
Additional Comments:
The answer here is that 'son' has a different conceptual meaning in Hebrew thought compared to modern western thought. In Hebrew thought 'Son' could mean a male person one generation down from a father and mother, as we would take it today. Jesus is a literal 'Son of God' in the sense of his human manifestation as Gabriel explains to Mary. 'Son' however also meant in the culture of the time, any part of the same family. Thus all Jews regarded themselves as 'sons of Abraham' and sons of 'Jacob' although they did not literally have Abraham or Jacob as their father. Thus 'sons' would exist in many different generations.
So in a metaphorical and spiritual sense Jesus is the Son of God as part of the family of God. No difference of status or pre-existence in time is implied by this description as God, including the Word, 'the Son' always was. The human concept of time does not exist in the spiritual realm in the same way.
If you believe in Jesus you believe in GOD for they are on in the same.
Jesus is The SON of God Jesus is The SON of God
No god created both. But Jesus was his son.

No. Michael is an angel, Jesus is the Son of God.
The SUN god is Horus. (Egypt) The son OF god is Jesus.
jesus is god's son
Judaism does not believe Jesus is the son of god or the messiah. Islam believes in Jesus, just that he is not the son of God but a prophet like Muhammad.
They are the same person, Jesus Christ. Son of man is the the term Jesus used when He was describing Himself. Son of God is who He actually was, being born of the virgin Mary, and conceived by the Holy Spirit. Scholars speculate that the reason that Jesus referred to Himself as the Son of man and not the Son of God was simply to show humility.
Muhammad and Jesus are not similar. But the the Christan God and Muhammad are similar because Christians and Muslims believe in the same god. Jesus is mentioned in the Bible and the Qumran In the Bible he is the son of God. In the Qumran he is a prophet. So Christians and Muslims believe in the same god. They are similar in that way. Jesus and Muhammed not so much. Christians believe God created the world. Muslims believe the same. The Bible says Jesus is the son of God. The Muslims say he is a prophet. Hope this helps you understand!
It teaches us that Jesus is the Son of God.
