The cause of restless leg syndrome is many times unknown in most patients.

Talk to your doctor to determine what may be causing your RLS. There are some

prescription medications on the market that may help you. Other things that may help

is to eat healthier foods and stay away from caffeine and alcohol.

I dont know about a cure but the treatment sometimes involves '''ropinirole''' (Requip) and '''pramipexole''' (Mirapex).

Well... are you looking for some medicaments (and let you kill from the side effects ?)

or permanentely help ? I'Ve read a book "How I defeatetd the restless legs syndrome" by M. Hubner, since I had the RLS for years. The answer is quiet simple. www.vegamagic.com could probalby help.

Regards

Paolo Paolo, I have to respond to this answer that you gave to this person who is looking for REAL help. I am very familiar with Mathias Hubner and his ridiculous claims of a cure for RLS. I notice that you do nothing to help answer thyis person's question, just send them to the web site that is trying to sell a "program" and a book that claims to have the cure for rLS, of which there is none. Mr. Hubner and I have had a lot of communication as he was soliciting on the RLS Foundation's Facebook page about his web site and book. Every med that is used for RLS is not going to "kill you" as you state. Of course all meds have some side effects, but the sleep deprivation that RLS causes can be devastating to relationships, jobs, etc. There are also several levels of severity for RLS, so the treatments can go from changing cognitive behavior to yes, DRUGS. Without them many, many people would have a very low quality of life, and for you to insinuate that people who take drugs for RLS are lazy or do not want to work hard to make their RLS better is insulting. I have been moderating RLS support groups since 1998, and I have the largest online group with 1280 members from all over the world. Some members do not have to take drugs, but most of us do. If Mr. HUbner truly wanted to help people with RLS, he would not be selling information and a fraudulent cure for money. He would be helping out fellow RLSer's out of the goodness of his heart, if he had one, and that is doubtful. Like I said he and I have communicated many times back and forth, and his attitude is beyond reprehensible. Do you work for him? YOu must, since you sound like you are selling his web site, or at least pushing his idea that nobody knows what it is, as he will not give any clues as to what his "cure" is unless you hand over your credit card #. Please, people, never hand over your hard earned money for anyone who advertises a cure fro RLS, since there is none; only treatments. There are two kinds of RLS, Primary (inherited) and secondary RLS that can be caused by kidney disease, low Ferritin levels (how your body stores iron), etc. Please do your homework if you have RLS, as we are our own best advocates, and do not pay attention to this scammer or any other scammer. They are all over the internet, just waiting for us to open up our wallets!

I have suffered with RLS for many years, after many trials of different prescriptions, I am now using an antidepressant called Trazadone, and in the last 3 months I have only suffered with my RLS once. I am sure this won't work for everyone but it did work for me, I used to suffer at least 4 times a week, leading to chronic insomnia.

Restless leg syndrome can often be relieved by various natural and noninvasive (not to mention easy) treatments the patient can do right at home or at work. Some such treatments include cutting back on caffeine, exercising moderately, sleeping with a pillow between the legs, doing some simple calf, thigh and hip stretches, moving around during the day especially if one's job consists primarily of sitting at a desk, and keeping to a regular sleep schedule.
