Yes, these are two good places as well as many more. The most important thing is what is in the collection and what condition they are in. Big collectors and auction houses like Docks and Naucks are only looking for cream of the crop stuff that they will pay next to nothing for it and sell for hundreds. The problem with Ebay is the shipping. They are so breakable they have to be packed very well and the shipping costs have just gone through the ceiling. You might win a record for a dollar but pay $12.00 in shipping. The 78 trade has really gone down on Ebay. If it's not something of real rarity it usually doesn't sell.
Most 78's are only worth 50 cents to a dollar as they are in lesser condition. But, there are still plenty of new young people getting into the collecting game and they will take whatever they can get to have the records they want. At least they have a copy and will keep it until they can upgrade to a copy in better condition. Don't just throw them away. Advertise them. Most cities have a free advertising site.
But, be ready to have all the records in a list with the artist name, the title of both sides of the record, the label and the label number. Someone might just buy that whole collection for one record.
You have to ask yourself, "Do I want to get rid of them?" If you are only interested in the money, plan on holding onto them for a long time. If you just want to make room, sell a large stack for $20.00 to average out to 75 cents a piece or a dollar a piece if they are in super clean condition.
Records are the oldest means of recording music, then reels of tape, then cartridges of tape, then cassettes of tape. The very first records were tubes coated in wax, about the size of the tube in a roll of toilet paper. They were replaced by flat records.
Vinyl is a strong plastic that is used to make records. Synonyms for vinyl include album, 45, singles, LPs, and discs.
play the two different kinds of Music Discs (previously called records) that can be acquired. These are Gold Discs and Green Discs. The Gold Disk plays "Thirteen" by C418 and the Green Disc plays "Cat" by C418. Right click a Jukebox with a Disc to play it, and right click the Jukebox again to eject the disc.
Depends on what kind of "discs" you're referring to... (compact discs? brake discs?)
what is difference between compact discs and digital versalite discs
discs
Long playing records are 12" diameter vinyl discs intended to spin at 33 1/3 rpm with a spiral groove cut into it. The groove contains irregularities that a stylus follows and transfers the movement to a transducer which converts it to an electrical signal that can be amplified.
Compact Discs is the correct spelling.
Werk Discs was created in 2004.
Crammed Discs was created in 1980.
Discs of Tron was created in 1983.
Golden Discs was created in 1962-07.
