Like learning any other language, the time it takes to learn Korean depends on your natural ability to learn languages as well as the amount of time put into learning the language. If you immerse yourself in the language and culture, you're more likely to learn faster than if you were to just take a one hour class per week and not practice at all.

It depends on how you learn it. It can be easy if you try hard. It might be hard as there are more than JUST the alphabet where you just need the letters.

In Korean, you need the letter and another case to see HOW to speak that letter.

As an example, a chicken is written as . Can you see? The base letter is 'ㄷ' and the other case 'ㅏ'. Also, there is the letters at the bottom. See?

If you only have the base letter and the other case (ㅏ) it sounds like 'DA' when chicken is sounded like 'DAK'. That is why a word needs the letters at the bottem. However, that still doesn't mean that the letters at the bottem is needed all the time.

As you can see, it is hard, but as you learn it, it'll get easier.

I hope this answered your question! (Sorry if it is too long)

Learn by practicing the sounds and the syllables. I would avoid using a romanized counterpart. It will only hold you back in the end and you will have to make up for it. Trust me, I did it that way, and I wish I had did with strictly Korean and didn't take the "easy" way into learning it. There are YouTube channels that have Korean lessons. Good luck
