I have heard this one so many times and it is difficult for the wife. Usually police officers are too busy to be worried about having an affair. Business is business and crime is on the high. They are trained to be on the ball and cover each other's backs. Why don't you ask your husband to invite his partner over for dinner. Get to know this woman. You probably don't even know what she looks like. Women officers have to work 5 - 10 times harder to prove themselves in a male orientated workplace and so I doubt she's stupid enough to risk any of that. Usually police officers don't get mixed up with officers of the opposite sex and it's not really an acceptable policy in the police force. Police partners do have a relationship, but it's not one that you might think it is. It's based on earning the trust and loyalty of each other and knowing the other one is there to cover their back. It's seldom about romance. If a partner is killed is like losing a dear and trusted friend. Please ask her over for dinner and get to know her. That way you'll find out how serious she is about her career (and I bet she is.) Don't let your imagination ruin your marriage. You don't have to be best friends, but getting to know her will make you feel better.
