The very best way is to look for a data plate on the water heater. It will list the operating voltage as well as the wattage. If there is no data plate, you could remove the cover on the side and look at one of the heating elements. The voltage rating is usually stamped on the element somewhere. You should also note the color of the three wires. One of them will be either green or bare. If one of the remaining two wires is white, then there is a good possibility the heater is 120V. If neither of the two wires is white, then you may have a 240V unit. You do NOT want to rely on just the wire colors, though. Find the voltage rating on the unit somewhere.
the water heater operates at high power compared to the lights and so the water heater requires a larger current. The wires supplying current to the water heater are thicker so that the wires have a low resistance. This reduces the risk of the wires overheating.
Water on the floor that is not coming from the heater core is coming either from rain water leaking around a windshield seal or one of the firewall seals where hoses, wires or other components enter from the engine compartment.
The heater switch can be replaced on a Chevrolet Corsica by removing the three wires from the back of the switch. Put the wires onto the new switch and return it to its slot.
Most electrical equipment are either designed to work on Single phase (two wires) or Three Phase (three or four wires). Two phase equipment are non existent today. A single phase heater will require a single phase thermostat while a three phase heater will require a three phase thermostat.

You're scaring me! Get an electrician!
It is on the front of the intake it has three wires coming out of it done had to replace 1 myself the water pump is right below it
in the heater panel on floorboard plug with three wires have to go through glovebox
heater resistor burnt out! Located under glovebox near heater motor.(held in with 2 screws) 4 to 6 wires coming from the resistor.
Connect to two wires you have to the the spade connectors and forget the ground connector. The spade connector wires should be black and white. Black to gold and white to silver. If the wires coming from the heater happen to be red and white, then red goes to black. You could buy a simple lamp cord which has only tow wires.
If some installation instructions came with the water heater which tell you what kind of wire to use, the same instructions should also tell you how to connect the wires to the water heater. As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed. Before you do any work yourself,on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances, always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOBSAFELY AND COMPETENTLYREFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.
Normally the wires and plug in can be purchased at the GM dealership. Will have to cut the wires back if they are melted and solder the wires together. Can also use a heat shrink butt connector to connect wires. Recommend the heater resistor be replaced and the heater blower motor be checked for wear or noisy bearings.
